Installing Zimbra Desktop (For mac) and adding an email account
In this example, we'll download the Mac version (Mac OS X 10.7+ (Requires Java 1.7+).
2- Install it by right-clicking on the "Zimbra Desktop Installer" icon.
3- Accept the Terms of Service.
4- Proceed to Add a New account and select:
-- Account Type: Microsoft Exchange IMAP.
-- Account Name: Enter a name that will help you identify this account.
-- Your Full Name: Enter the name you'd like others to see associated with your email address.
-- Email address: Enter your full email address: username@
Under Receiving Mail:
-- User Name: Enter your full email address: username@
-- Password: the password assigned to this email account.
-- Incoming server: mail.
-- Security: TLS if available.
Under Sending Mail
-- SMTP server: mail.
-- Port: change the default value: 25 to 587.
-- Security: Unchecked.
-- Authentication: Check "Username and Password required to send mail" and Re-enter
--- User Name: Enter your full email address: username@
--- Password: the password assigned to this email account
-- Reply-To: enter the email address and name you want to receive replies to IF DIFFERENT from the one you entered in the first part.
-- Click on "Validate and Save".
-- Zimbra will let you know if the account has successfully be created.
-- Click "Launch Desktop" and start using your email account.
You can now safely Eject the Zimbra Desktop Installer from your Mac.
