Making a backup of your web site from the Plesk Panel
We recommend making and scheduling backups during non-business hours, especially for large web sites.
By default backups will be stored on the local repository on the server, and the disk space used by these backups counts toward your hosting account's disk quota, so make sure you'll have enough space in your hosting account.
For an additional fee, you can also use a remote storage like an external FTP server or a cloud account like DropBox or AWS S3 account to backup to.
Here is how to make a backup of your web site from the Plesk Panel:
Dashboard tab
From the Files & Databases section: Click on Backup & Restore
Then:
- Either click on Back Up to create a new backup NOW,
or click on Schedule to schedule automatic backups.
Here is how to to create a new backup NOW:
click on Back Up
-
Check the option: Backup
Check only:
-- Configuration
-- User files
-- Databases -
Store-In: Leave to the default
-
Type: Leave the default: Incremental.

Enter your email address if you want to receive a notification once the backup task is completed.
-
Click OK to proceed with the Backup.

Wait until the backup shows as complete.
It may take several minutes depending of the size of your web site.
Once the Backup is done, you will see it in the backups listing.
Note: The disk space used by the backups stored in the local repository counts toward your hosting account's disk quota, so make sure you'll have enough space in your hosting account.
You can check that from the Plesk Panel Statistics tab.
